A Perspective From Above
Each week we will explore a perspective from above. That is to say we will look into God's word and consider His righteousness, manner, walk and direction for our lives. Join us weekly for this inspiration.
Who’s In Charge?
We have five of the cutest puppies in the kennel at this time. There are three males, Diesel, Axel, and Spark Plug (Sparky). Also, there are two females, Latte and Muffin. As new born puppies they got along well as long as they could snuggle to one another. Now they are seven weeks old and much more independent. They struggle over the food, water, toys and attention. If one watches long enough, he would see that an Alpha dog is emerging. Notice that in any pack of dogs placed together for the first time there is chaos until the alpha dog is determined. Upon watching this phenomenon, it occurred to me we are just like that.
We, too, seek the dominate alpha person in our midst and are much more compatible when that individual is established and everyone accepts it and can begin to work with it. Until everyone is accepting of the leader of the pack there is always some contention in the group.
Not only is this true in our interpersonal relationships, but it is also true spiritually. You see, the natural man needs and looks for that person or being that can call the shots, lay down the rules and make one feel complete and fulfilled. Until that moment when a person realizes that Jesus Christ is the alpha and the omega in life, he is incomplete. Life tends to be complicated and lacks meaning. Once Christ is established in our hearts suddenly life has meaning, purpose, and fulfilment. For that reason, Jesus said,” take my yoke upon you for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28). For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
